Expos Studio 20 & Expos 20 Sectioning Instructions
Students who are taking Expos Studio 20 or Expos 20 in Spring 2020 will be pre-enrolled in the course by the Writing Program and the Registrar’s Office. The course should appear in students' Crimson Carts by noon on Tuesday, January 28. All students are enrolled in a placeholder course until they are assigned to their actual Expos section. This is not a permanent section assignment.
Students may begin submitting Expos section preferences in my.harvard at noon on Tuesday, January 28. The “event” Expos Sectioning will appear in the “Enrollment Events” field on Student Home in my.harvard. Click on the red “Enter Lottery” button to access the section options. Students should submit their section preferences before the Expos Enrollment Event closes at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, January 30.

- Expos Studio 20 students must rank exactly FIVE sections of Expos Studio 20, in order of preference.
- Expos 20 students must rank exactly NINE sections of Expos 20, in order of preference.
- Please be sure to make your selections before the program closes at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, January 30.
- After making selections, click the "Submit" button. After submitting your Expos section preferences, you should see a confirmation message on your screen.
To view the list of sections you have ranked, click on the “View Lottery” button from the Enrollment Events section.
Students may re-select and re-order their preferences as many times as necessary while the sectioning program is open. Please visit the Lotteries page of the my.harvard Knowledge Center for additional information. When the program runs the assignments, the software will consider the most recent selections that were successfully submitted.
Sectioning is not done on a first-come, first-served basis, so the system does not take into account the time and date you selected your preferences. The program is designed to maximize the number of top-choice placements, but it cannot guarantee that all students will be assigned to their first or second choice of section.
Please remember to submit your preferences by the deadline (Thursday, January 30, 11:59 p.m.)!
Students will be notified on the evening of Friday, January 31, via email, once spring Expos assignments have been finalized.
Expos classes begin on Monday, February 3 and Tuesday, February 4.
*NOTE: A section assignment may be visible while sectioning is in process. These assignments are subject to change. Assignments are NOT final until 9:00 p.m. and students receive email notification that sectioning is complete.
