Expos 20 Term Change Requests

August 27, 2016

All students who are interested in requesting to change their Expos 20 term assignment must fill out a form at the Writing Program office at One Bow Street. Please come to the office at the following times:

  •     Saturday, August 27: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  •     Monday, August 29: 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  •     Tuesday, August 30: 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Expos 10 Advising Begins

August 24, 2016

All students who are either recommended for Expos 10 or who are interested in the course must have an advising session at the Writing Program office on the second floor of One Bow Street. Sign-ups open on August 23, and advising sessions begin on Wednesday, August 24.

Students must come to the Writing Program to sign up for available timeslots.

Expos 10 Advising will take place on the following dates:

Writing Exam

June 6, 2016

You can access the Writing Exam here.

All students are assigned to take the Writing Exam in the June Exam Window. Students who are unable to take the placement exam during those June dates due to unavoidable conflict may petition to take the Writing Exam during the alternate exam window in July.

  • The June Exam Window will open on Monday, June 6 at 10 a.m. and close on Thursday, June 16 at 2 p.m. (all times are Eastern Daylight Time).

English Grammar and Language Tutor

The Writing Center English Grammar and Language tutor is available to work with undergraduate students who have questions about grammar, syntax, vocabulary, and writing in English as a second language. The EGL tutor is available to all undergraduate students during the academic year and can help with academic papers, fellowship applications, and graduate school applications.

Expos 20 Assignments and Section Change Requests

January 31, 2016

Expos 20 section assignments were run on Sunday, January 31. Your section should be visible in your my.harvard.

EXPOS CLASSES BEGIN ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1.

If you have a schedule conflict, Section Change Requests are accepted on the second floor of One Bow Street at the following times:

  • Monday, 2/1/16 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 2/2/16 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, 2/3/16 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

EXPOS SECTION ASSIGNMENTS DELAYED

January 30, 2016

The system designed to assign all spring students to limited-enrollment Expos sections has unfortunately experienced unexpected technical difficulties today. The developers are currently working to resolve the problem, and we are waiting for an update about when the system will be ready to run. We expect to be able to provide further information early tomorrow, but we are not able to send you your Expos section assignment this evening as we had hoped.

Section Changes will not take place on Sunday, January 31.

Sectioning for Expos 20 in Spring 2016

January 27, 2016
  • Wednesday, January 27, 2016: Expos 20 sectioning opens at noon
  • Friday, January 29, 2016: Expos 20 sectioning closes at 11:59 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 30, 2016: Expos 20 assignments are processed through the evening
  • Monday, February 1, 2016: Expos 20 classes begin

Spring Expos 20 course descriptions and other registration details will be available on our website in January 2016.
