The Harvard College Writing Program administers all Expos 20 and Expos Studio 20 courses (those courses meet the writing requirement), as well as the elective introductory course Expos Studio 10. In Expos courses, we teach students the fundamentals of writing academic arguments of the types that students will encounter in their undergraduate courses across a range of disciplines, from literature and anthropology to government and the life sciences.
The Program also provides a number of essential resources for Harvard undergraduate writers as well as for departmental faculty and Teaching Fellows who assign writing to undergraduates:
- The Harvard College Writing Center offers undergraduates free one-on-one tutorials conducted by trained peer tutors.
- The Harvard Writing Project (HWP) works to foster excellence in writing instruction throughout Harvard College. HWP consultants work with faculty and Teaching Fellows to develop effective ways of assigning and responding to student writing. The HWP also collaborates with faculty and Teaching Fellows to develop writing guides tailored to specific courses or disciplines.
